On 11 June 2026, the Grimme Institute will host the discussion forum “Journalism: between objectivity, activism and awards” in Düsseldorf. CAIS researcher Christoph Bieber will join Ellen Heinrichs, Lars Rinsdorf and Çiğdem Uzunoğlu to discuss how public debates on social issues can be better facilitated. The focus is on constructive approaches to managing conflict, including shared rules and a renewed debate culture.

At the March 2026 meeting of the Digitalization Working Group of the Städtetag NRW at ZenDiS in Bochum, questions of digital sovereignty were at the forefront.
