18. May 2026

CAIS researcher Dr. Tetiana Gorokhova presented the paper “Digitalization as a Driver of the Circular Economy in Ukraine’s Post-War Industrial Reconstruction: Lessons from German Industry” at the 18th International Conference on the Economies of the Balkan and Eastern European Countries (EBEEC 2026) in Crete. The paper was co-authored with Kateryna Polupanova (Mykolas Romeris University) and Mykhailo Lukash (Pryazovskyi National Technical University) and presented in a session on technology, governance, and the public sector. It links Tetiana Gorokhova’s work on the integration of digitalization and the circular economy in North Rhine-Westphalia’s manufacturing industry with the question of how these practices can be incorporated into Ukraine’s reconstruction agenda. Tetiana Gorokhova also co-chaired Parallel Session 5C (together with Dimitrios Dimitriou, Democritus University of Thrace), which addressed regional value creation and geopolitical risks in advanced and emerging economies.

The EBEEC was hosted by the Hellenic Mediterranean University in Heraklion, Crete, and organized in collaboration with Demokritos University of Thrace.
